On Wednesday evening mom finally decided to come home. She needed it. But of course didn't have a good nights sleep, and then went back to Kingston on Thursday morning. Dad had an ultrasound of his legs on Tuesday. As he was worried about them. We were told that he had two blood clots in them. Which one or both, I don't know. But the docs weren't sure how old the clots were/when they got there. They are weening dad off the I.V. form of blood thinner to an oral form This will make it so he can go home. But... we are still wondering what is going to happen with the fluid that keeps building up in his abdomen. Since the fluid built up so fast after they drained it the first time, they did decide to put a stint in. It's kind of like he has a catheter in... but it's attached to the right side of his abdomen. This allows the fluid to continuously drain. We don't know how or if he can go home with this. Whether he goes home with the tube/bag attached and it just continues to drain at home the same as at the hospital, or maybe they will put a "plug" or something in it and he will go back every once and a while to get it drained... These are still questions that need to be answered. Dad had a low day yesterday. He said he wasn't feeling well, but I'm sure it's mixed with a little feeling of ... what's going to happen next. He still is complaining about the pain in his abdomen... so that's something else that he worries about. We still don't know what's going on there. So we still don't have a home day as of this morning.
I again want to thank you all for your e-mails, prayers and comments. Dad and mom do get to read them, so keep them coming, and it means a lot.
