Nobember 30 2011

Today was a better day.  but not too too much to talk about...  After a lot of conferring with each other, the doctors decided it was best to put a "tube" or "stint" in the side of dads abdomen, so the fluid that keeps building up could be drained easier and faster.  I think this was a good idea, and mom said that this made dad in better spirits.  Mom said that by the time she left the hospital they had already taken out 2 litres of fluid... and it was still going.  I talked to Mark a little later and he said they were up to 3.5L... and still going.  Mom said that dad has the "all important" appt with the Oncologist on December 8th (I think... I'll let you now if it's different).  Lets keep praying for that miracle!!!

  1. Hi all. I guess my update did not work yesterday so I will try again. Thank you Becky for the updates and keeping everyone connected. Aunt Henny, (also known as aunt Anne) and I were glad to be able to spend time with Henry and Wilma and all of the family we have seen. Aunt Anne had some rainy moments when we left and I don’t mean the pouring rain outside. It was difficult to leave however we hope Henry will be able to go home soon and continue his recovery with all the care you give them. It was great to hear that Henry still has his humor and can make fun of me. Henry and Wilma when you read this remember we all are thinking of you."

  2. I am so thankful that we have family that are so close and love each other. That is a great relief, especially when we live a great distance and can not be there. I wish I could just drive over and visit. For now though I just have to send my thoughts and prayers your way. Hopeing for a home daye soon, but also pray the doctors can find the issues and resolve them. Love you all

  3. Thank you Brenda and Uncle Willem. You know no matter how far away we all live from each other, the warmth of your thoughts, and the intensity that we can feel from the prayers is heartwarming. We can feel it like it's right beside us.
The Spirit of the Lord is with dad and is getting stronger every minute with every prayer... lets pray that He brings my dad some comfort and lets him come home.. in which ever way He seems fit
