Yesterday we had a very emotional day.
We planned for Communion here yesterday. Something that the whole family hasn't done together for about... 20+ years. Dad of course could not partake, but I know he was feeling it in his heart. Pastor read from a passage, we did the Lords Supper, then we finished it off by singing, "How Great Thou Art". We had almost the whole family here yesterday, Rod & Shari and the girls, Brad & Laura, Me & my girls, mom and dad. We had a couple of people form the church come... our elder Sylvia and also another man from church... Henry. But here's something you won't believe... Mark, my eldest brother had to rush my sister in-law Jessica to the ER on Friday night and Sunday morning because of major abdominal pains. So they weren't able to take part in Communion. I think the devil is trying to get his dirty little fingers in our lives. We still did Communion, and it went well. So the devil can shove it...
Later we all sat around dads bed and sang some songs from mom and dads Shining Lights days as well as some some songs we sang when we went on trips/fishing. Dad always loved to do this. Every time the family got together he would get out the guitar and we would sing songs. Brad played the guitar. It was awesome... but also hard to do.
Dad is remaining in bed now about 99.9% of the time. Amazingly enough, he still has energy to flip over. Mom and I try to get him up at least once a day to get him off his hips, and to stretch out his back etc... but we can't always get him to agree.
We'll see what's in Gods plan for tomorrow.....?
God is good, I am thankful that you are all able to get together and be there for your mom and dad. I hope Jessica is alright. I know they were there in your thoughts. Please know that we are praying for everyone and you are never far from my thoughts. Love you all
